Large Urban Dwelling

A living space that connects community, transportation, greenery, and city-life.

In the Spring 2022 semester I was part of junior studio where I was assigned to create a Large Urban-Dwelling/ Apartment Building in accordance to the urban planning of Pennsylvania Ave SE and the surrounding area. The first steps taken to achieve this was studying the near-area building footprints or figure/ ground of the location of our site, and created a new code for the area to best accommodate the housing building, and bring new life to the neighborhood. A vital role for my project was to create an urban area where people would want to live in, that has access to city-life, and transportation means like the DC Metro. It is because of this that decisions were made like adding a park in front of the residence, and adding retail space to te ground floor of the apartment building to add new life.
